Ms. Stafford, a special educator, started out by posting an amazingly candid article, “The Day I Stopped Saying Hurry Up,” on the Huffington Post in August of 2013. Since its publication, this “Type A” woman has spread the “Hands Free”movement to millions of readers.
Being “Hands Free” involves the daily use of easy techniques to balance living in a modern, screen-focused world with mindful, loving interactions with those whom we cherish.
Rachel’s Huffington Post articles are both eloquent and engaging, while inviting each of us to take a good, hard look at the way we are living as mothers of our children. They are as follows:
“Six Words You Should Say Today” September, 2013
“Taking Away My Daughter’s Smile” October, 2013
“Taking Off the Ticking Clock” December, 2013
“The Important Thing About Yelling” January, 2014
“The Bully Too Close to Home” January, 2014
Finally, Ms. Stafford offers each of us an opportunity to take the “Hands Free Challenge,” and is now leading us in 4 weeks of a Huffington Post “Stress Less Parenting Workshop.”
I am so very grateful for women, like Rachel, who are willing to look deep within themselves and our modern society to help better the world in which our children are being raised.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend, spending time with those whom you cherish most.
